NCTimes publishes ONLY PRO-Guffanti letters

NCTIMES PUBLISHES ONLY ONE SIDE

For the second day in a row the letter to the editor section of the NCTimes has allowed a letter recommending the Guffanti group for VUSD board, but no PRO public education letter for PRO public education candidates. Not one letter for Jaka, Chunka, and Lilly has as yet been published in the NCTimes. Please complain loudly and often to Pattie Leipert (letters editor at 433-7333, ask for Leipert)about this obvious and unfair bias.

FALSE CLAIMS BY TRUTH IMPAIRED GUFFANTI

Today Leipert allowed our truth impaired VUSD board member, Dr. Guffanti, to falsely claim that VUSD has made great and unprecedented reading improvements, thanks both to him and Joyce Bales. Of course the growth in reading scores started long before either and continues albeit at a slower pace under Joyce Bales.

SHOULD TEACHERS GET CREDIT?

Perhaps the teachers had something to do with the many years of improvements that continue even under the strain of incredible load of Bales Busy Work dumped on the teachers? Oh I forgot, according to Guffanti, teachers just "do not want to work" only Joyce Bales has gotten teachers to do their jobs. (Guffanti nctimes commentary December 2, 2007) According to Guffanti, the teachers never even tried to do their jobs of teaching children before Joyce Bales.

LOTS MORE BALES BUSY WORK, A LOT LESS TIME FOR STUDENTS

Of course Joyce Bales has gotten teachers to do a lot more work. The problem is it is mostly her paper shuffling Busy Work, more than any other administration in thirty years. Under Bales teachers have a lot less time for the classroom prep and paper work. Still the test scores go up. Any one but the devisive and nasty name calling, Dr. Guffanti would be glad about any improvement under such trying circumstances and give credit where it is do--to the incredible efforts of the hard working teachers.

NCTIMES EDITORIAL STAFF PROMOTES FRINGE POLITICAL VIEWS

Recently the North County Times Editorial staff has been bending over backwards in their efforts to get ANTI-public education candidates as a majority on the VUSD school board. This ANTI education has only become blatantly obvious for the last couple of years under the "new regime" at the nctimes. Just five or six years ago there was far more balance. But today the NCTimes and especially its editorial staff make no attempt at fairness, even handiness, or even ordinary logic. All their editorials promote fringe political views especially those having to do with the complete destruction of the union movement in the United States.

NCTIMES EDITORIAL STAFF HATES ALL UNIONS--middle class jobs scare editorial-'istas'

We know that the current editorial staff at NCTimes has written numerous VERY negative
editorials about unions. Read their nastiness about firefighters here:
http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2008/07/08/opinion/editorials/za036645b0849ca208825747400729b0c.txt

Here are a few choice quotes about firefighters from that article:

"And this is Oceanside, where both fire and police unions continue to flex considerable muscle in elections, which gives us additional concern about the key question here: Who is running the fire department?" and "And once again, taxpayers get a harsh reminder of just how far public service employee unions have burrowed into the administrative processes of government in the Golden State."

The NCTimes editorial staff says of police things like"...reward the police union with a fat pay hike"and "Pay giveaway to Oceanside police undercuts promise of more officers." Read the editorial here:
http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2006/01/04/opinion/editorials/19_23_351_3_06.txt

We also know they do not like teachers unions, the staff has written "union works overtime to keep out quality teachers," as well as "....probably has something to do with the impression many have that being a teacher isn't that hard." Read the rest of their despicable comments here:

EDITORIAL WRITER, JIM TRAGESER, DRIFTS OFF INTO PARANOID FANTASY

Jim Trageser has said that the Vista Teachers Association, CSEA, and the community groups involved in the 1994 recall of the extremist board majority was a "nationwide conspiracy against Christians" read that one here (see his comments following his editorial):

NCTIMES EDITORIAL STAFF PROMOTE ANTI-PUBLIC EDUCATION GROUP HOPING FOR CONTROVERSY TO SELL PAPERS?

Besides promoting fringe political views against unions and the middle class, the editorial staff may be pushing the ANTI public education slate hoping that if they are seated on the VUSD board as a majority, that their ANTI-public education agenda and their arrogance toward parents of actual VUSD students and disdain for teachers will create headlines that will sell papers. Would the editorial staff of NCTimes be so devious? Would they be so uncaring about our VUSD students? Who knows? Whatever their reasons for their continual bias on the editorial page and in their news stories, you can help stop it.

PROTEST NCTIMES BIAS

Even the nastiest of the editors at NCTimes realize they need to sell papers. The opinion of you, the public in the North County, matters to them. Email or call them early and often. Tell them to change their ways.

Write a letter to the editor protesting their bias or supporting the PRO-public education candidates. Then email it the letter editor. Finally and most importantly call the letters editor at the north County Times and demand to know a publishing date. Do not assume that any letter that does not support the ANTI-education troika will get published. We must inundate the NCTimes with calls and tell them that we know their game and we DO NOT LIKE IT.

Here are three email addresses that can be used to reach the NCTimes editorial staff:
