Teachers play by VUSD Board Policy rules, but not Guffanti

TEACHERS NOT ALLOWED TO USE DISTRICT EMAIL FOR POLITICS

Guffanti instigated a rule that the teacher's are not allowed to communicate with each other about union issues.

Teachers are not allowed to use district email, district computers, district phone, or even the local site teacher mail slots to provide union information to its members.

In fact Guffanti insists that Vista Teacher Association meeting announcements in the daily bulletins can only give a time and not even list an agenda! What kind of meeting notification is that? Teachers cannot know what is on the agenda ahead of time.

TEACHERS FOLLOW THE RULES

Those are very Draconian rules, but I guess rules are rules if every one plays by the same ones. Right? Teachers can get used to the rules. We don't like them, but we can get used to them.

Guffanti is VERY determined to enforce his rules. Even the slightest appearance of a possibility of a violation of those rules sends Guffanti crying to the North County Times about those 'evil' teachers cheating and playing unfair. So we know Guffanti believes in his rules.

WILL GUFFANTI PLAY BY THE SAME RULES?

We can expect Guffanti to play by the rules he made up if he thinks the rules are so important, right?

No, of course not. Guffanti knows he is special. The rules are for others not him.

Guffanti has already mis-used official district email. Reproducing the official email on one side of a piece of paper and putting his campaign literature on the back. Official district information is not to be used ever for partisan political purposes according to Board Policy. This policy makes sense as the school district can not be seen to be taking sides in a school board election. For Guffanti to use the district email as campaign literature might seem to suggest that the school district supports his candidacy. He knows that. In fact I am guessing he did it on purpose to leave that false impression.

What a hypocrite!
