When Jim Gibson ran unsuccessfully for Oceanside City Council in November 2008, he was interviewed by a very conservative local website, redcounty.com.
During the interview he was asked about how VUSD would do in his absence if he were elected to the Oceanside City Council. Part of his answer included this quote about Dr. Joyce Bales:
Gibson: "For the last two years the district has had a conservative, knowledgeable and dedicated superintendent - the best I've ever met. She holds the same educational standards I hold."

When Unions pick candidates to run and support them with large sums of money, the candidate is obligated to return that favor by making sure that all that the labor Unions want and need is there for them.
