Jim Gibson's STOP the 10,000 car mega high school that cost taxpayers 50 million dollars

In his 2002 school board campaign, Jim Gibson ran a deceptive campaign against the CHEAP, LEVEL fully graded Kawano site behind Strawberry Hill. He put up signs all over town against this cheap site saying "STOP the 10,000 car mega high school."

He did stop it and it cost the taxpayers as much as 50 million dollars.

The cheap level Kawano site could have been used to build a 50 million dollar high school that would have been completed by at least the fall of 2005 if not the fall of 2004.

Read about JIM GIBSON's political campaign to stop VUSD from using the cheap level site to build a 50 million dollar high school here:

Two VUSD candidates attack magnet high school site
Tuesday, October 29, 2002

"Incumbent school board Trustee Jim Gibson and the candidate he endorses ---- Steve Bradford ---- said this week that they oppose putting the campus, which would accommodate two magnet high schools, on the property the district is studying on East Vista Way between Mason Road and Osborne Street in an area called Strawberry Hill."

As I wrote in my previous post, California State law required the support of at least FOUR school board members to obtain the cheap level Jay Kawano site behind Strawberry Hill. With only THREE pro public education board members, the two ANTI fact based public education board members JIM GIBSoN and Dr. STEPHEN GUFFANTI held the purchase of the land and building of the third high school hostage to their own grand political ambitions. They cost the VUSD taxpayers 50 million dollars.

When will Gibson and Guffanti apologize?
