VUSD is the worst district in the county! (or the state) scream our ANTI friends

Our angry friends on the North County Times blogs have repeatedly asserted that our fine VUSD schools are "the worst in the county" or the "worst in the state."

Of course this is not true, our fine schools score just as well as other fine FACT based public education school districts in the North County. Some neighboring school districts have slightly higher API state rankings, some a bit lower. We all draw from the same general population demographics. We all teach rigorous fact based education. So it is no wonder that scores are so similar.

The only question is why don't our angry ANTI friends "blog scream" in all capitals that VUSD is the worst school district in the history of the universe past, present and future. Why do their made up hate fantasies just make us the worst in the state?What is holding them back from even greater and more grandiose charges? Wouldn't they feel better if they were even more negative about us?

I think hating the 'evil' straw man caricature they have created is as good for some of them as Prozac. The more outrageous and negative false charge against VUSD, the better they seem to feel. So why do they stop at just calling VUSD the worst school district in the state?

Some mysteries are too deep for human understanding.

Here are the actual API standings of four of the local school districts for 2009:

Fallbrook Union Elementary
California API Growth 2009 = 801

Escondido Union Elementary
California API Growth 2009 = 742

Oceanside Unified School District
California API Growth 2009 = 767

Vista Unified School District
California API Growth 2009 = 780

As can be seen VUSD did a little better than Escondido or Oceanside and a little worse than Fallbrook. Vista Unified School District is hardly the 'worse' school district in the county as our angry ANTI friends repeatedly claim.
